DISH Network Reports First Quarter 2008 Financial Results

 

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., May 13, 2008 (PrimeNewswire via COMTEX News Network) -- DISH Network(r) Corporation (Nasdaq:DISH) today reported total revenue of $2.8 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, a 7.5 percent increase compared with $2.6 billion for the corresponding period in 2007.

Net income totaled $259 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, compared with $157 million during the corresponding period in 2007. Basic earnings per share were $.58 for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, compared with basic earnings per share of $.35 during the corresponding period in 2007.

DISH Network added approximately 35,000 net new subscribers during the quarter ended March 31, 2008, giving the company approximately 13.815 million subscribers as of that date.
